User roles

What you can do in the IPMS Portal depends on whether you're a normal user or an administrator.

Normal user

Normal users can create personal projects or work within organisations for collaborative projects. This diagram illustrates the typical user workflow:

What normal users can do:

  • Create projects independently or as part of an organisation. Projects contain all settings for your pseudonymisation work.
  • Join organisations (optional) to collaborate on projects with other users.
  • Submit token requests for each dataset or data record you want to pseudonymise.
  • Receive and use tokens generated after approval to pseudonymise or reverse data as per your project's configuration.
Using tokens

The Portal generates your tokens, but the actual pseudonymisation happens in INCERT. You use your token to send datasets directly to INCERT for pseudonymisation. This process does not involve the IPMS Portal. For guidance, see INCERT documentation.

Administrator

Administrators from LNDS have full access to manage the portal and oversee all activities. This diagram illustrates the administrator workflow:

What administrators can do:

  • Manage user access and assign users to organisations.
  • Create organisations or approve user requests to create new organisations.
  • Approve token generation requests from users for pseudonymisation.
  • Receive notifications when users submit requests for review.

To request administrator access, contact LNDS Service Desk.
