What is this?

In today's digital world, where data-driven informed decision-making is increasingly important, data privacy is more critical than ever. Our Pseudonymisation Portal allows you to securely access LNDS's pseudonymisation service, which has been co-created with INCERT. With this service, you can secure sensitive personal data to enable privacy-preserving and record-linkable data sharing in Luxembourg.

Who can use this platform?

Are you a legitimate data holder? Do your projects involve sharing personal data linked to personal identifiers that cannot be disclosed? Do you aim to share this data for legitimate purposes such as research, innovation, policymaking, or other processing activities but need to generate pseudonyms to replace personal identifiers? If so, you have come to the right place. The LNDS Pseudonymisation service supports you in this essential step. Whether you are representing a single organisation or aiming to collaborate with multiple parties on a specific project, our service is available on a flexible, on-demand basis. How does it work?

To use the LNDS Pseudonymisation Portal, user(s) or organisation(s) must first request access to the service by clicking the Request Access button on the portal. Once your request is reviewed and approved by the platform administrators, an account will be created for you.

With your account, you can log in, create projects, configure pseudonymisation parameters (including project retention period and pseudonym reversibility policy), and obtain an authentication token specific to your project. Then, along with your authentication token, you send Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or concatenated PIIs to the service backend operated by INCERT to generate your pseudonyms. Pseudonymisation replaces personal identifiers with artificial identifiers (pseudonyms). Personally Identifiable Information (PII) includes any data that can directly identify an individual (e.g., name, social security number) or indirectly do so through a combination of information (e.g., gender, address, and date of birth).

The platform is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, enabling you to quickly transform sensitive data into a secure format that complies with data protection regulations. If you need to reverse the pseudonymised data in the future or perform secondary pseudonymisation, our platform provides these capabilities securely and in full compliance with regulations.
